Inner Voice
And suddenly, something said to "stop." We have all had those intuitions. We are all going in a direction and suddenly something inside of us tells us to take a detour. But how many of us listen? We think we can handle the road ahead, we think that we have it together.
How in tune with yourself are you really, if you cannot stop when you experience this sudden moment?
I believe that we have a connection with ourselves that is always constant, however not always noticed. I believe that we have an ability to trust our deepest guts for a greater cause, however we choose to continue moving in a conscious way because that is easy, it is comfortable, it is known. But what if the unconscious guidance is actually better for us?
Imagine a road that you are traveling and it is all sunshine and blue skies. No one would want to veer from that path onto another path that is unknown. We as humans struggle to accept the unknown, we always talk about being okay with it, but rarely do we follow through with the actual acceptance of being out of control. So instead we continue to travel on the road of comfort, only to find that down the road is pain, hurt, fear, anger, sadness, etc. Had we listened to that little voice in our head to turn the other way, might we have been able to avoid this whole experience together? Maybe. I think that is for the self to come to terms with; to learn from and to accept.
The challenge is not necessarily in hearing the "stop," it is in following through with the "stop." The "stop" is difficult to do because other people might be in the way, or on the same path as you, or your friend, your family, your coworkers. And while we really like the idea of being part of those crowds or those people's lives, at the end of the day--we have to know that deep down we know what we need.
Are you willing to listen to your inner strength. Or are you willing to risk the future because of something that appears to make sense now. Life begins right outside of our comfort zone.
Keep it bright. Keep it positive.
