You are Enough
What does it means to be enough?
“You are enough.” A powerful statement that some people accept and some people fight. We think to say these things to people who are down, struggling, battling a war in their mind. We think to remind people that “they are enough” when they question their value, their worth, their life. So often we say these three words to people who are struggling with their "NOW." These people are not the only ones that need to know that “you are enough.” Every single person needs these words said to them daily. Morning. Noon. Night. From the moment they are born to the moment they take their last breathe. People who have their “shit” “together” need to hear this. Every one does. Why? Because being enough does not mean that you are not allowed to be something more. It does not mean that you are not allowed to work, strive, breathe, go, believe, grow, want, something more. Being enough, means that you are not less. You are not below. You are enough just the way you are. And if you want to be better than you can be. But as you are right now, is enough too. Everyone is enough, but people can choose to be more. Everyone is enough, but people can choose to do more. Everyone is enough, because we are all valuable in our own ways and beings. I truly believe that there is not a single person on this planet that is not enough. And the people who make others feel that they are less than, are the ones truly hurting inside and often are questioning their own value. You are enough, and you can choose to be so much more. Being enough does not mean that you are done growing, learning, thriving. It means that in this moment you are the best you are and can be right now. Enough is a measure of now. Not a measure of tomorrow, forever. While you are always going to be enough, no matter what you do, you can always choose to do and be more. We can all, choose to do more. To be more. When someone says “you are enough.” It is not a STOP SIGN. It is a yield sign. When someone says "you are enough.” It is not a dead end. Being enough is not a weakness. It is a strength. It is an empowerment. It is the nourishment of growth. It is the water, the sun, the food, and faith all rolled up into one.
The conversation I hate:
Me: You are enough
Them: No, I have to be more.
Today, you have all the tools to get you through today. And tomorrow you will have the tools from today and all the yesterdays of your life. You are enough in who you are in this moment, right NOW.
