Limitless

I recently took a trip to Washington. There is something about my trips to Washington. This most recent trip was a chance for me to see my grandparents as well as relax before getting back to the swing of things with school.

I got into town on a Friday and was able to meet up with my cousin. I had such a great time spending the day with her and catching up. We got our nails done after grabbing some lunch. Note to self.... non-stop flights would be appreciated (I was in the airplane or in the airport for far too long!)

After the nail salon, she took me with her to do her final fitting for her wedding dress. And I felt so blessed to be a part of that experience. I thought she looked absolutely amazing and I cannot wait for her wedding in just a few short weeks!

We finally made it to Grandma's and were helping out with dinner. Grandma and Grandpa always knows how to make me feel at home with good food and good company.
Since I had just finished summer school and was not going to be getting back to San Diego until the day before classes, this was my summer vacation! And I would not have had it any other way.

Saturday August 20th, was my cousin's bridal shower. After bonding with her the day before I felt pretty confident in the "How well do you know the Bride" game. But I had no idea just how well I knew her! LOL. I ended up winning, but trust me I guessed on most of the questions. But being with family and spending time with the people that matter in Kim's life made me really feel special. I am so glad that I was able to make it up there and be part of this extremely special time in her life!

The rest of the week was spent walking around Wal-Mart, the Mall, and grocery stores just pushing the cart and talking with Grandma. Somehow we never seem to have nothing to say.

I also gave everyone a little treat by making dinner for Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Susan and Dan. It was Green Sauce Chicken Enchiladas. And were they YUMMY!

My Grandpa likes to say that when I come to town he ends up with two of the same ladies in the house! lol I am so like my grandma and it is fun listening to her life and her telling me that because we are so alike, my future is bright.
A few things that we are very much alike:
Exhibit A--- I leave unfinished cups of coffee, juice, and water around the house to come back to them later... Grandma might have accidentally picked up my cup of coffee (which has sugar and milk in it) and drank it. Oops! She leaves unfinished glasses around the house too!
Exhibit B--- We have rather largely opened BIG mouths! If you need an explanation you do not know us well enough.... but for those who are still confused we speak our mind even if it could cause us harm lol. So far we have both been unharmed :)
&&& There are so many other similarities that we come to realize throughout the day!

The days spent with my grandparents are filled with talk about everything, insight about life, and lessons about what could come based on the past experiences of the world!

But my trip did not end there. I happened to work the trip out so that I could see a good friend of mine. I spent the last part of the trip with him up near Seattle helping his family out with a garage sale. And while most people might think "You spent your summer vacation helping at a garage sale???" I would not change that trip for anything.

Life is not about the places we go. The sights we see. It is not about the limits we face. It is not about the expenses or the luxuries. It is about the people you are with and the memories and moments cherished.

Washington Trips make my life so LIMITLESS!
